about

Found In Translation's lyrics - by Massimo Giuntoli – are written in Molkayan languages.
Some of the idioms in use among the Molkayan people belong to a common language family, and it is not unusual to find words in different languages that are identical in form but differ completely in pronunciation and meaning.
At the same time, even within the same language, identical words may have different meanings depending on the words they are preceded or followed by in the context of the sentence.
For example, in Ondisemic verse...

"Dan Randa Wei
Diu Randa Wau
Dan Randa Worin"

...the word "Randa" means ‘come back’ in the first verse, ‘deep sleep’ in the second and ‘it flies better’ in the third.
Or again, in the following Tanrik ‘awakening song’...

"Dimbari Gow Bari Gow
Gon Bari Gon Bari Gow
Bon Bari Bon Gari Bow
Bow Bari Bon Gari Gon"

..."Bari" means ‘sharp’, ‘too far away’, ‘vek soup’ and ‘I can't remember where I left the plough’ respectively.

I am especially grateful to the wonderful artists Pat Barrett, Dario D'Alessandro, Ignazio Lago, Eloisa Manera, Daniela Perissinotto, Titti Pritti and Anthea Y., who accepted my invitation to collaborate on Found in Translation by creating visual interpretations aimed to give shape to the subjects of Molkaya Consolle, which are published within the CD's booklet.
